#39 July 1-6, 2018

Dear Family,

Well, that is a great week, and it sounds really fun to do all of that. I"m glad everyone had a great week.

This question came up in sacrament meeting: why do we send our kids on missions? So, why did you serve a mission?
One reason I served a mission is because I know that it is going to help me in the coming life, so I need all the blessings that I can get in the world we live in now. I was told the other day, you get out what you put in so I am really taking that to heart I want to have the best experience out here and work hard so I can be blessed.

What do you want to tell us about your week?
Monday - we went to Red Robin with a bunch of missionaries. That was fun and I had a good time there. Then we went up and had dinner with our neighbor. They are really cool and nice. They kinda live in a hole but we can go in their house whenever and eat their food. We haven't' ever don't that , but it's out there.

Tuesday - We went to a 300 year old Catholic church. Man it was cool, not going to lie. We went with an investigator, but I was still like... it does not have the same spirit as we do in our church. Then we watched a firework show, with an investigator. It was not the best because we were really far away but it was still good and I had a good time.

Wednesday - We finally got to have some bobo burgers. This cow that we tried loading in a trailer for the longest time and we finally got it, and then I got to bite him back.

Thursday - We played some good ball with a lot of people at a community center. That was really fun because they were all good so it was a good competitive game. Then at like 10, we ate some pancakes and they were so good.

Friday - We got up at 5:15 and ran before service. We went to a really nice spot and watched the river run so it was nice to see. Then we helped a lady move all her stuff out. That was really easy good workout. Oh man, then get this... we figured out at district council that some of the Elders shaved their legs! We were all in shock pretty much. I said, Ok, that man card is gone forever. It was weird. Then that night we climbed a mesa and took pictures on top. They are cool, and I'll see if I can figure out how to send them.

Saturday - We went exploring for our morning workout. There are so many cool places, it was sweet and there are tons of holes in these rocks and stuff. It is really cool, the stuff we found. Then I had a bad experience. I hit a 6 week old puppy of a family that I like a ton, so that was really hard for me to go through that because the girl and me are friends and she was in tears when I told her. Then we played some more basketball in Albuquerque, so it helped a little.

Sunday - I talked in church and said goodbye to everyone, and that was really hard, but I guess the Lord has something else for me. But we did have a sweet dinner at President Carrol's, so it was a good sending away gift.

I am getting transferred to Las Cruces, Picacho Rio Grande. I have no idea where that is but it is a long ways away... 3 hours from where I am now, so it will be a totally different experience and it is going to be way hot, like in the 100's all the time, so I am sick about that. But I heard it is a nice place. It might be really hard for me at first, so just keep me in your prayers.

(From Austin's letter to Carson, referring to the movie quotes they send each week: "If this is God's country, obviously the Good Lord don't want no neighbors!" - from Glory Road talking about El Paso which is by the place he is getting transferred to)

So, that is my week. I hope this one goes good. I'll be in a different place, but I will take some pictures for you. I love you all, and have a great week.

Elder Reiley
