You guys had a heck of a week. Any huckleberries around? The reunion sounds pretty dang fun, that's for sure. I like that a ton. Yikes, Dallin's hikes sound like way too much hiking for me but if I was on a horse I might consider it.
I'm getting ready to send you a package. Do you want anything specific?
Maybe some of those huckleberries but other than that I seem to be good.
What are you loving about your mission?
I love the time I get to spend. Just to have the experience is really something I have never had before.
Do you struggle with anything?
Just with all day, every day deal. And the dad gum heat! Man it just sucks the life out of me when we want to work and the sun makes it real hard on me.
Were you able to teach any lessons this week? If so, who did you teach and how did it go?
Ya, we taught a few lessons. They were pretty good. We taught a lady named Mary and a guy named Christian. They are both going for baptism, so we are going to see how it all goes for them.
Is Christina still on track for baptism on the 11th?
Yes
What are you learning from Elder Mansing?
Haha. It's Elder Manser, like cancer but with a M. He is a big basketball fan. He has taught me a lot about teaching because I did not get a lot of that out on the Rez. I am picking up a lot of it out here.
Ok, My week:
Monday - We went to go see the Pat Garret memorial site. It was really cool. I'll see if I can get a picture sent. He was the guy that killed Billy the Kid. There is a ton of outlaw history running through here.
Tuesday - We got to wash eggs for the service place, then had dinner with the Bushmans. He is a big John Wayne fan, so we got along great. Then we went to give a blessing to a guy at the hospital. I'll tell you what, he was in such bad condition he did not even know we were talking to him.
Wednesday - We did more service. We sorted a bunch of terrible food, ya, it was bad stuff and mold everywhere you look. Then we had lunch, taught these people and then we had dinner with the Jenkins family. They are a really young family, but they are pretty nice so that was good.
Thursday - We helped 2 college girls move in. that was easy. They had 4 people for a 2 man job, so it was easy just moving all their stuff in. Then they gave us some of their Vegan food that I would not touch with a 6 foot pole. We took it to be polite, but it didn't make it very far. Then we went to a less active lady. She has an ankle brace, but like a cop one so she can't go anywhere without them knowing about it. That was cool.
Friday - We had district council and that was ok, not too bad. We did some good role plays so I guess that was ok. We cleaned a yard with some other missionaries for a guy that his yard was terrible. We got most of it done in the 100 degree heat. Ya, we got some bad blisters on that. Dinner was with the Romney's. We had tacos. I'll tell ya, people out here love tacos so much. I have had more tacos than I have had in my whole life!
Saturday - We visited a recent convert's home and she talked for hours. We had dinner with the F. family, and I still have yet to find a family out here that is at least somewhat down to earth because I'll tell ya, people are crazy ad they don't care.
Sunday - We went to church and then we tried to stay cool, so we tried to stay inside people's houses. We were in some houses. We had dinner with the Bushmans and then we went to a crazy lady's house. She just told us her whole life story, so we had a long day.
But that was my week. It was good, just really hot too, so we are trying to stay cool. But, I"m doing good. Hope you all have another great week.
Love,
Elder Reiley
