I talked in sacrament meeting about sacrifice and Jesus Christ.
I'm glad you had a good week. Man, you guys got to go to the gold mine. I remember that. That's good that dad was shoeing horses. Get this, someone asked me if I could help them shoe a couple of his horses because he is really swamped so I am going to hop on that and do it for him. Also, we are getting a 3rd companion for a little while. We get him on Wednesday. He is a Tongan from Hawaii and we will be in a trio. We will see how this goes . The kid is straight off the MTC and we get him for a transfer, then he is going to the Philippines after a transfer. So that is exciting.
From Carson's letter: I bet you will do good in football this week. I'll tell ya this, bro, take advantage of football, you can play basketball and baseball whenever with people, but the football only comes once, so enjoy it because I really miss it. Keep up the hard work.
Is your missionary experience so far what you thought it would be? How is it the same, and how is it different? (from Grandma Hart)
It is really different than what I thought that we would be doing all just door to door knocking, but heck no, we don't ever do that! And the same is that would be wee teach a pile of people and in the environment I was thinking of not the best houses and a lot of trailer parks.
What kind of missionary work do you like to do the most? How are your mission experiences now compared to the beginning of the mission? (from Grandpa Hart)
I really have liked going into people's homes and at first just getting to know them. Sometimes at first we don't have a lesson, we just friendship them and don't jump the gun. So I have really liked that so when we share a message with them, they can tell that we are serious because of the way we teach. At first I just thought that we go in, sit down, have them shut up and we teach, but naw... that is not even close.
What was your favorite thing to do this week? (from Halle - cousin)
Probably doing a bunch of service for Christina. We are redoing her floor, so we had to rip it all out and cut boards to put them in so that was good. We spent some good time on that.
If you could repeat the first 10 months of your mission, would you? Why or why not? (Aunt Kathryn)
Yes because I would have been on the rez, and no because they were a long ol' time. But overall, ya, I would.
What is the food like? How nice is your apartment? (from Bradly - cousin)
It is spicy, hot. Ya, everyone likes the chili around here. There is a pile of Mexican food and tacos. The apartment is really nice. It is huge and 2 bathrooms which is really nice, but ya, it is super nice.
Did you get your package?
Oh, heck ya I got the package and those huckleberries made it safe and sound, so thank you so much. I am going to make a huckleberry dessert for them here because they have never had one.
Man, those are some real good questions. I hope I answered them good. But it sounds like everyone is doing really good, so I hope that it keeps going good.
My week:
Monday - P-day. We did all of our stuff in the day, and then we had a BBQ. Ya, they thought they could do it inside with frozen burgers and on pans. Long story short, I did my best, but we smoked the place to a crisp. Then he had a FHE with a member and we watched a movie with our zone leaders because it has to do with family history. Its co co. So that was a really fun P day.
Tuesday - Breakfast at McDonald's. The guy took us there. Brother Jiminez is an awesome member. Put another person on date to be baptized and then we had a lunch where all the old guys get together and have lunch and we were invited so that was good. We had a cool night at Tony BIuckman's he is a stud, l like him a lot. He gave me all the baseball updates.
Wednesday - We did Christina's floor for like 3 hours because the guy that came to help moved like a sloth, but he had to do it his way so that was a good test of patience. We could have had it done in like 2 hours tops and it was still going on. We met with a crazy lady that has died like 9 times so she has seen some crazy stuff she says. We skipped lunch and had a dinner with the members at a grill place, so that was fun. Get this... they guy's name was Michael Jackson. Ya, I had dinner with him.
Thursday - We did some family history and got 2 names to go to the temple for endowments. We had to do a weekly planning with President because he called in so that was a beast. It is hard enough and then the mission president is there. We did get to finally play a little ball in the evening with some guys. So we thought that was really fun to do. I stuffed a guy so hard that he fell to the ground.
Friday - District council. Elder Manser tossed the keys on the roof because he was trying to get them to another elder, so I had to climb on the roof of the building and get the keys off so that was interesting. Subway for lunch, and they were playing country music, so I got a little of what I could there. We had a lesson with a new investigator. Her name is Susie, and I really hope she stays with it because she seems cool right now. Then we went to the Nelson dinner again, and they made some sweet chicken alfredo, so that topped off the night.
Saturday - We played soccer, so it was a long morning, but when it is competitive, it is fun to play. Then I got my hair cut. We had dinner with a ward family. I think it is a toss up from them and the Buckman's. They are a ranching family too, and he is the guy that wants me to come and shoe some of his horses for him. But we talked and he really enjoyed looking at the pictures of the buck and bull and the fish that I got. So, we had steak and potatoes and it made my night.
Sunday - We had church, listened to a guy that is trying to unlock the secret to the universe. Ya, he is weird. We have dinner with him on Tuesday, so we will see how it goes. We had dinner at 4:00 because our other dinner fell through, so that was good. WE had a roast and this guy's house was so big, ti would scare ya. I got lost just trying to get back to the kitchen from the bathroom. It was like off of Down and Derby, when he gets lost in Ace's house. That is how I felt, even though I didn't hide under their bed. It was a task to get back. We went to a place where the people there are nuts but they love us.
That is my week. Kinda long, but good too. So, I hope everybody has another good one. Tine flies. Days Go By.
