#48 September 2-8, 2018

Dear Family,

Are you used to eating green chili or red?
No, I do not like green chili at all, but it is all that these people eat! No red chili either, but I like it better than green.

I bet you loved it when it cooled off and rained; was that great?
I loved the rain that day, we had the windows down and were riding in a river.

I bet the chili festival was pretty cool - something you'll remember?
Ya I loved the chili deal. It was pretty fun to sleep over and have a good weekend there.

What are 3 things you like about Las Cruces?
One thing about Curces is there is some dark land and there are some ranchers. 2. There are a lot of cool people down here. 3. We have some really good basketball that we get to play too.

What are 2 things you like about the heat (you might have to dig deep here, but try to find something positive about everything)?
1. There are a lot more people home so we can see them and 2. I am turning into a Mexican because of the tan.

What is the best thing abut your week?
Saturday we had a lot of service and we had a bomb lunch that we made with Elder Holmquist, and then we had a sweet Brisket dinner.

What is your purpose as a missionary?
Missionary purpose is to do all I can to help people learn about Jesus Christ. and give them all that God wants them to have.

What is the status on any investigators you are teaching?
Investigators have kinda dropped off. WE had a bunch, but 2 got baptized, and 1 was in another area and one stopped meeting with us. But we are trying to find some more.

Do you feel like your testimony is growing?
My testimony has grown a ton just seeing people change and it motivates me to do more to find people and help them because there are people out there that really want the best for them. Pray for me that we can find some more people to teach.

My week:
Monday we went to Sportsmans and we had some good basketball. Then we had dinner with a weird family but I was still grateful they didn't say more than like 3 words.

Tuesday we worked at the food bank service and then we went to Jack in the Box for the first time. It was not too bad, but I heave had better. Had my first chapel  tour where I just explain the church to someone and walk around. The Jimenez family we had to put some tables together.

Wednesday was service again. We had to lift a monster heavy dumpster to a different place and man, it was super heavy. Then we went and we dedicated a home. Oh man, then we had a dinner with a guy from the Reservation that came down to see me, so it was really cool. Then we had some really good basketball in the evening.

Thursday was weekly planning and then we went to the hospital and gave a lot of people blessings so that was cool. Then me and Elder Seto had to climb up in a tree and we had to cut off a branch. We were up and we were getting a really good workout. Then we had an awesome dinner with a really cool couple, The Falcos, they are really cool. She works at Sportsmans, so she shows us where the good stuff is. Then we had a tailgate party. It was inside and nothing. They don't know what much of a tailgate party is.

Friday was district council, then basketball. Shadow box with some sweet people then we went to a recent convert and she can talk. I'll tell ya, that lady can talk.

Saturday - I already told you about Saturday.

Sunday we went to church, had a couple of lessons fall through, Shadow box, and had another good lesson. Crazy dinner with the W's. They were singing about narwhals, ya it was that weird. Then we went to the Bushmans for awhile and we got stuff lined up for our dinners. Then the zone leaders slept over so we had a good time there. The temple was the next day, but I'll tell you about hat next week.

But it sounds like you guys had a good week. I am doing good and it is starting to cool off a little so I am happy about that. Hope you all have another great week.

Elder Reiley
