#12 December 24-31 2017

Dear Family,

Sorry I did not email you this Monday. We did a day with the Lord deal where we sit and open 14 letters that tell us what to do all day, so we went to elder Holmquist's apartment and did it there so we could not email. The whole mission does it.

What did you do at the stake center on Christmas day? Were all of the missionaries there? Did you have dinner with the Neilsons?
On Christmas day we had a zone conference just regular. Then we all had to do a bunch of the skit stuff, but then after we left then we came back and played games and sports till like 9 so it was really fun. Ya, there was a pile of missionaries there. We did not have a dinner with the Nielsons, but we had a lunch.

We're glad that you liked all of your Christmas stuff. Is it ok to have knives - just curious :)
Ya we can have knives. Elder Grover has a big one and he is in the city. So I'm real good out on the res.

Besides your companion, what other missionaries are you getting to know?
I am getting to know a lot of elders and sisters in our zone cause basically every p day we spend with them but, that is about the only time to spend time getting to know anyone. I know Elder Higbey, we few in on the plane together and we see each other at conference stuff, but not a ton of people.

What are some positive things about President Guffey?
I would say some good stuff about President Guffey are, he knows all the missionaries, at least it looks like he does. He is always in a good mood, so that helps and he is just an uplifting guy that is for sure. He's a hugger and I'm not too big of a fan of that.

What is one thing you want to always remember about your first Christmas in the mission field?
One thing that I always want to remember about Christmas is, we got to stay in Albuquerque for another night, and open more gifts with the zone leaders, and the nice gifts that I got, they were awesome. And mainly how much different it felt like spirit wise.

What is one thing that makes you happy?
One thing that makes me happy would be being out on the reservation. I know I can't be here forever but man, it's an awesome place to be.

Does anything make you frustrated?
I get frustrated when I am rushed to do something.

How are your studies going? What are you learning from the Book of Mormon and Preach my Gospel?
My studies are going really well. I have learned that there is so much in the Book of Mormon that I had no clue was in there in the first place, so I'm marking them like crazy. I read a little in PMG. That is just ideas on how to start off and keep good habits.

What is one interesting thing about the people on the reservation that you are serving? (Do you call them Indians, or Native Americans, or what? And do you think they are offended by "redskins"... don't ask them that!)
It's interesting that there are always opportunities to serve!  We don't have to look very hard to find someone that could use some help, but after service we give them a lesson cause they have no where to go. We call them Lagunas and Navajos, and oh ya, they would get really offended if you called them redskins. Oh ya.

Anything else you want to tell us about your week?
Well, the new year was good, but get this... we slept over at the zone leaders and come to figure out that our truck got broken into. Ya, I always take all my stuff in, so they didn't get any of my stuff, but all of our stuff was scattered and kinda trashed, like Books of Mormons :) and that stuff. And they took our gas card and spent like 600 bucks to a bunch of stores so we canceled the card, and the cops are looking for them. Boy, I wish I would have been out there when they were doing it. I was so mad that they took my pop. If I find them, it's going to be like when Kong beats the crap out of those dinosaurs.

Well, it's good that everyone had a good week. I hope the next one goes just as well. We are looking forward to this week as well, it should be a good one. I love you all so much. and thanks for your prayers and everything. It means a lot. Love you all so much.

Love, Elder Reiley

Could you send me Anthony and Coleby email?
