Dear Family,
It sounds like your week was really good and it's good there were no fights at the basketball game! I think it's fine to have visitors if they are in the area but I don't know how it all works. I'll find out. It sounds like sacrament meeting last week was great, it's crazy that Bryce is home. We are told to come as you are but not to leave as you are. I love that.
Did you get the Christmas stocking form our ward? I forgot to ask you that awhile ago.
Yes I did get the stocking. It is awesome and I love it and I will work on a thank you note.
What about missionary work? I know you are mostly doing service and there's not much interest on the reservation, but are you teaching anyone?
The work is slow but we are meeting with a girl Haily M. She is 9 and lives in Tohajiilee. She is progressing and we are trying to set a goal for her to get baptized. But as for Laguna, not a whole ton there just as many scripture messages as we can get. As for Julian R, he dropped us but said it was ok to come by and still do service for him (of course).
Did you have a zone conference this week? (I saw a picture of you on the mission facebook page and it looked like something like that - it also said that there was a lot of sickness... are you good?)
Yep we did last Thursday it was dang good. Ya there is a pile of sickness going around. It has killed a lot of old people out here. I have not got sick I feel good. Just got to keep doing what I'm doing I guess. But there have been a lot of missionaries sick. It's about 5 days to get over, President Guffey is sick too.
How was your exchanges last Monday night? You said you were a little nervous but excited. What does exchanges even mean, and how did it go?
Exchanges are when you and another missionary go together and spend the day in your or his area. So me and Elder Green the zone leader went out to the rez. That's why I was nervous because I did not have Elder Cornelison there, but it was fine. I got around and we had a really good time and taught some people and did a pile of service. It is kinda cool to learn something else about missionary work from another missionary.
Did you get to watch the news conference or the meeting with President Nelson?
Yes we watched it at zone conference. I am really excited for him. Gosh, 93 and he is still doing some crazy things. But yes, we are really excited to see what is about to come. Also, I had no idea they had changed the temple baptisms so now priests can baptize, when did that happen?
I'm getting ready to send a package... do you need anything?
I'm really excited for a package, but I think I'm good on stuff. I'm looking for some stuff to send home too, but it will still be awhile. Boy, I can't wait for some jerky too!
Thank you so much mom for that email it made me so happy, especially that last part. I hope that you all have a wonderful week. Keep it up and thanks so much for the email.
Love, Elder Reiley
