Well that sounds like a heck of a good week, I really like that, sounds like everybody had a good time. For pictures, I don't mind now if you send them.
When you say people are crazy, or not down to earth, what does that mean?
Well, crazy as in they are loud and don't really care what other people think about what they do. They just strike me funny because we only had a few up there, and down here it is the majority. Kinda like with bearing testimonies, they just way whatever they want and people think it is great.
How was Christina's baptism?
Man, Christina's baptism was pretty cool. I was a witness and Elder Manser baptized her. She is doing really well and was super happy that she got to have it now.
Are you teaching a guy that is close to baptism?
Well, I don't know about close to baptism, but we are teaching a guy named And... He is a guy with hardly any money, and he just kinda wants to take advantage of the Church, but we do have really strong lessons with him, so that is why we keep on going forward.
Are you still teaching M...?
Ya, we are. She has knee surgery coming up and we are trying to get all of it done, but she is kind of mental, so it is really hard for her to get it all grasped. But we are hoping it comes soon.
What is one thing you are looking forward to this week?
Well, one thing I like is that we are helping Christina on her house, so we have a pile of service coming up. I look at it as I am a service junkie - when I get out here, I'll take anything.
Do you have a good scripture or quote (like from conference) for you right now?
"The greatest decision I ever made in my life was to give up something I dearly loved to the God I loved even more. He has never forgotten me for it." President Monson quoted another guy in one of his talks.
Did you get the family reunion pictures I sent last week?
Ya I got the pictures, they are sweet.
What else do you want to tell us about your week?
Monday - OK long story short on Monday we went to our zone sports. We were playing soccer because we have a pile of Mexicans in our zone. And the game was getting heated because we were winning. So these 2 elders were kinda pushing and shoving through the whole game until one of them got in his face and started saying a few words and then the Mexican elder just thumped the other elder one good right hook. You could hear it pop, so the other elder tried to shake it off, but he couldn't so he went to the bathroom and cried. But the other elder was just holding his ground. So, ya, that was sports.
Tuesday - Zone conference. This was a little brutal because we were the only zone there. We usually combine with another zone, but not this time. so it was kinda dull. but the upside was that we got to have dinner at Applebees. That is where you got the picture from.
Wednesday - We had our carpet cleaned this day and we had to move all of our stuff out and stand the day like that. We then helped Elder Holmquist and Winn with a yard and it the time being we happened to find a wasps nest. With a big ol' fat can of Raid, we lit them up and it was so funny watching Elder Holmquoist just deliver it right to them. Then we had a stinking sweet dinner - Tri tip and potatoes. They are a sweet family. Kinda old but they remind me of Mr. Merzlock (Brother John) the hole in one maker.
Thursday - We got stuff ready for the baptism. We got to go to Buffalo Wild Wings because it was an Elder's birthday. We had a pile of wings and like an idiot, I had the hottest one there and it just ruined the rest of them. But it was still fun to do.
Friday - We had our weekly planning then we got a bunch of stuff ready for the baptism again, had a dinner with the Espinos. They are pretty cool, just kinda quiet. But we had chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes. So it was good. then we had a good lesson with Sean. He is sweet and he is jacked and I like teaching him.
Saturday - BAPTISM!!! That was really good. Then we went over to a couple lessons with people that can talk and talk so it was brutal there. Then we had a sketchy dinner. Man, the people were kinda mentally challenged and it was almost pitch back in their place so it was kinda hard to eat because they can't have it light or it hurts their heads. So it was hard.
Sunday - We caught the bullet of talking in church. We did a good job but still kinda brutal. But then we went to a couple of people and that was good to go by. We have not met with them in awhile, so they are pretty cool. Then we had a good dinner with a family. We saw her discipline her kid with a belt, so that was interesting but still.
So that was my week. Pretty good so I hope I can have another good week and same to you. I hope ya'll have another great week.
Love, Elder Reiley
