You guys had a good week. Good grief! everyone is coming home, that is so weird to think about, but it also sounds like there are some really good talks going around too, and I am happy to hear that everyone is feeling the spirit there. And good heck, if it isn't one sport it is another! But that is the way I like it. Thanks mom, I am very thankful for the prayers, and I know that you all are being blessed too. How is Grandpa Hart? I have this pit in the bottom of my gut telling me that Carson killed a buck on the 27th at 8:45 a.m., but I might just be up in the night. But if I'm right, I am becoming a fortune teller! :)
Do you have any serious investigators?
Roberta, Suzie, Steven Edward and there are a couple more, but they are doing pretty well, even though they are really kinda on the edge of committing or not, so it is moving very slow.
Did you see any examples of kindness this week?
Ya, me and Elder Seto helped a guy move his dead car up a hill. We pushed and he drove, so that was really good. We told him about us and even though he didn't want it, he was still real grateful that we were there to help him out.
What are the top 20 things you have learned on your mission during the first year?
1. Every person needs to at least hear about the gospel.
2. The only way something gets done... is if you do it.
3. You learn something new about you every day.
4. Secret to success*
5. Control my temper.
6 Get motivation out of everything (good or bad).
7. Don't let Satan tempt you even for a second (cause that's how it begins).
8. Play the game right: no fumbles, picks, false starts, off sides - play a perfect game in school or anything
9. Don't waste money. Ask yourself is it what I need or what I want.
10. Look at somethings from a different point of view.
11. If you do something once, it is easier the 2nd time. Try to keep going. Don't quit.
12. Full commitment in all things you try (people, lessons, sports, school)
13. Every time you share or hear a testimony, yours gets stronger.
14. Change is always in the future, you just have to accept it.
15. Have to do your best to love everyone.
16. To have white knuckles on the iron rod.
17. If someone has done something to you, forgive them, God already did.
18. Shut all distractions out from the negative outside world.
19. Love who you are and where you came from; bring respect to your family
20. There is always a person that is ready for the gospel, you just have to find them.
My week:
Monday - well we went to the farm and ranch museum. It was pretty cool. Most of the stuff in there I have already seen, but it did kinda remind me of the one we have in Driggs. There is just a lot of cool stuff in there to look at and most of it is old like I like.
Tuesday - we had that zone conference again. IT was all one big meeting in an all day thing. It is hard to stay focused in a meeting for so long. But I guess we did get some good stuff out of it, that we can because, so it was not completely brutal. Then this sweet family gave us this Hawaiian food for Seto, it was not the best, but it was still really cool to have that because it was something new, so you will be glad to hear that I am trying something new;)
Wednesday - We did service at this place for awhile. It was ok. We gave the homeless food and took it to their cars so a lot of walking, but we had the whole zone, so it was not that bad. t/hen we had a few good lessons with a couple of people. Then we got a food order for a lady and I'll tell you what, that was a pile of food in there! We made a dealt hat she had to come to church, but we did not see her. Then we found a sweet volleyball place. Elder Seto is crazy about volleyball, so we are trying to get some of them to come in, but we will see. Then dinner was enchiladas, that was scary, but it was poring rain, and the guy was a hunter so we exchanged a few stories back and forth so it was nice to talk to someone about that.
Thursday - Well, we had volleyball with some investigators and it was not the best, and it was still good to gain trust with them. Then basketball with two black guys that we actually killed. I thought most were athletic, but nope. Then we had weekly planning, and then dinner and Seto had some water he was getting out of the faucet and it was brown, so we asked if we could have milk, but they did not, so we were laughing at it.
Friday - Well we had lunch at the Bushman's, and it was brutal, because Elder Bushman gave me a potato right out of the oven and it was super hot and not thinking, I popped it in and burned my mouth so that was not fun. Then we had dinner at Golden Corral. Wow. That stuff is super good. It was bad because we never get that so we pigged out on that one. Then the little box named tiwi that checks your driving broke so it was fun and way too good.
Saturday - We walked all day and got a few rides. We ended up walking like 8-10 miles, so it was a beast because our car is out of miles. We got to go to a Spanish baptism, that was good. Then we walked on the railroad all the way to the Bushmans, that was fun.
Sunday - We went to church and had to get rides everywhere, but it was an ok day, not the best because we had to walk everywhere but at the same time we were burning off all that Golden Corral!
Well, that was my week. It was not too bad. I am glad that everyone is all good and it is good to have these experiences. Hope everyone has a good week.
Elder Reiley
