From Marilyn: I asked Austin some questions and he answered them, but in one big paragraph, so it will make more sense if I include the questions with his responses.

Dear Family,

Did you get the names of the elders you met from North and South Fremont?
I did but I can't remember their names, I will be looking this week and write them down so I can remember.

What do you do in the MTC?
At the MTC I get up and go shower, eat breakfast, then go to a 3 hour class with the coolest teacher ever. Her name is Sister Sorensen. We literally had chair races down the hall because the chairs have wheels on them. We almost got Elder Carver to go down the stairs (but he did go on the elevator). Then we go to lunch. After lunch we plan for our TRC (I don't know what that is) and that is pretty cool. We have had 3 investigators so far and everyone has been super easy and cool. Then we go to another class for 2 1/2 hours and that is pretty fun. Then we go to dinner at 4:30. That's easy. Then we go exercise. Then we have to go to another TRC. Then we just do whatever. We just can't go back to our rooms before 9 so we just study or something then we get back, do all of our stuff and talk and mess around and go to bed. So that's my usual day of the MTC.

What are your classes about?
My classes are about teaching the lessons in preach my gospel in 3 minutes or less so there is a lot of memorizing.

What is the food like?
The food is not terrible but it's not great either. So I weighed myself and I'm 157 so I was 157 when I came out - slim and good there.

What do you do for exercise?
Exercise is sweet. I always lift a bunch of weights and play some good basketball. I just switch off every day. And I am out of shape.

Do you get free time? If you do, what do you do?
We don't usually get a lot of free time at all but when we do it's just study a bunch of stuff. We get some free time when it is late and we are messing around playing basketball.

What is one thing that is awesome about the MTC?
One thing that is awesome is just our district has the best guys in there. They are so funny and great.

What is one thing you have learned?
I have learned that there is a lot less stuff to learn than I thought. It is really just to memorize.

What is one thing you are struggling with?
I don't like the classes because I'm always trying to stay awake. But I always bounce my ball and take down notes.

I heard you had dinner with the O'Briens, is that right? (The O'Briens are a couple from our stake. Dee taught school and coached basketball for a long time at the high school. They are going to Rochester New York on their mission).
I saw them at dinner and talked to them for awhile just to see how everything was going. So we talked for awhile at dinner.

Oh, I have some funny news. So Elder Carver is such a funny kid. After basketball we were at our dorms and we were watching people doing back flips. So he got this bright idea of doing a back flip off the bench, so of course all of us were like oh ya you got it easy, do it! So he jumped off and we had piled like 20 leaves thinking it would be a soft landing spot. He jumps and in mid air his body just goes completely limp (I'm laughing so hard right now) but he hits the ground, and you could tell in his mind about mid flip he was saying that this was a bad idea. He slams the ground on this side and just starts groaning. Like a dying whale is what it sounded like. It was so funny. And get this - don't freak out mom- I tried it a bunch and now I can do it. I can do a standing back flip by myself just jumping and landing it on flat ground!!!!

Oh and we saw a Meet the Mormons 2 and the second one made me so homesick. It was about ranching and breaking horses and stuff. Man it was so good but also made me really homesick, but I"m all good. Oh and I met this girl from Rigby. She knows Seth and Talon. It was a pretty cool connection there. She is into horses so I can finally talk to someone who knows about horses. Her name is Sister Wilde.

So that's good to hear that everything is going good at home. It is good that South was like a basketball game. But just wanted to let you know that I'm doing great and liking it a lot. Thanks for your prayers and everything.

Love, Elder Reiley

PS - We met Brother Brase,Jaxon's companion in one of the classes and we connected so it was really cool to see him and talk to him.
Elder (Brother) Brase and Elder Denfeld - Jaxon and Brase were companions at Battleground, WA and the Denfelds were in the ward there.

Austin in the barbershop - Cheri's sister heard him say his name so she went over and talked to him.
