Wow, that sounds like a heck of a good week, and state baseball even better. I like that week, and you should totally send me a picture of Hailey's car. I'm glad that everyone is ok (from Marilyn: some of Austin's friends were in an accident but they are all ok)
I love that family history story that one made me laugh just thinking about it all (great grandpa Reiley and matches in his pocket at a baseball game story).
Ok, I will be sure to email him for sure and that is so exciting for him.(referring to his friend that is leaving on his mission)
How is the phone training going? Do you have to use Facebook?
Well, the phone deal is going ok. We have not had a whole ton of training on them yet but we are getting them here pretty soon. I sure hope I don't have to get Facebook, if so, I will not be on it very often.
Are you still doing a lot of ranch work?
Yes, we did some ranch work yesterday for Raymond and I got to b rand cows with Kyle Honeyfield. Man that was sweet. There were a ton of cowboys and it was great. I got offered 3 times to help round up the cows on horses and I had to turn them all down, but I know God watched the whole thing.
What do you want to tell us about your week?
Tuesday - I had exchanges with Elder Chester and I had a really good time with him. We did service literally all day. And we had to fix Alva's fry bread stand, so I thought that was really good to do to. And then we were weeding and I went to pick a weed and a rattle went off so I jumped back and I got the shovel and went to work on him. When I realized how big the snake was, it was easy he was like maybe like 6 inches long but I didn't know how big he was at the time. But that was fun.
Wednesday - We went to a senior center every Wednesday and wow, they had some weird tychi class, that was weird. It kinda reminded me of what Master Shefu does on Kungfu Panda. Then later we played a mean game of basketball with these kids. We played in boots and jeans in 90 degree weather but we still won.
Thursday - We did some more service by helping these ladies take their trash to the dump. That was pretty easy. Oh man, then we had to go into Pep Boys to get an oil change. That was sweet because the people that are in there know us, so we went back in the shop and they were showing us these sweet Technics on how to work with cars and stuff. I also got to sit in a $75,000 Camero and oh man, that car purrs. It was pretty sweet. Then we had to go to the sisters because they were not feeling too well. They asked for some stuff so we grabbed it and dropped it off. And, at the worst time of all, we got a flat tire, right out in front of their apartment. And with the new trucks, they make it so you have to be a mad scientist to be able to get the spare off the back. But a while later we did get it off and we were on our way, but the sisters were out, right on top of us watching, so it made it a little brutal, but we got it.
Friday we had district council and it was pretty good. We had a sweet lunch. We got subway, the same thing I always get. But then after we did some planning and went to Sister Lazeros for dinner and she had some dang good spaghetti. Man, that stuff was so good.
Saturday, we branded on and we ended up doing about 45 calves and I got to rope a few of them.
It was clear out in the middle of nowhere and we drove and drove and drove in the New Mexico desert and it was so far out there and 10,000 degrees, but I wouldn't changed it for anything. It was a good day.
Sunday we had branch conference and I went out with a guy and we went by a few people and these people did not really know who he was, but people thought we were Jehovah Witnesses and we were like, no... that's not us. It was pretty funny. Oh ya, and when we got back, we got to make some cinnamon rolls for the other elders. So it was some good memories there.
That is my week, sorry it is a little long. Hope you all have a great week. I can't wait for the next one.
Love, Elder Reiley
