#34 May 27-June 2, 2018

Family,

I didn't write a lot last time because we only had an hour at the place we were at, so we had to hurry.

I am really learning to rely on the Lord. This is one of the toughest areas in the mission because there is no one to teach. but if I trust the Lord and pray, stuff falls into place.

That's crazy about that storm. We had one like that too. I'll tell you about it later.

That's cool that Austin is leaving. I will email him. I keep forgetting what his email address is, but I'll figure it out.

That's a good family history story. The Pony Express is a dang intense job! I bet his heart was really thumping when those Indians had him running and no matter how thick the ice is, he shouldn't ride his horse across it. I really liked that story.

OK, 2 weeks coming at you. First will be the past week.

Monday - We played some really good basketball with some missionaries. That was sweet. We did like a tournament and I ended up winning, but the last game was a battle for awhile

Tuesday - We went to Raymond's again and hauled the rest of his hay. 114 bales! We loaded on the trailer so it was a pile of hay but I enjoyed it a lot. Then we went over to Relief Society and that was crazy. We made center pieces. Ya, ya, I know... out in Laguna, I kinda have to go to R.S. but it's not too bad.

Wednesday - We cleaned a lady's yard, a ton of garbage and weds and all this stuff. It was brutal, and it was like in the 90's and Elder Smithson got nipped by a dog and he was ticked!

Thursday - We dug moats around a lady that is less active but loves us. We were there for hours trying to make a moat so the water would stay around her trees. But the dirt down here is sandy and it is hard to pack, but we finally got it all done.

Friday - We went on exchanges. This time I was with Elder Garvin. He is a baller and we both love the Cavs. We played some ball with these people that were super nice and then we shared a message after , and it was really good. Then we went by some people and I'll tell you what... there are a ton of wackos out there that are all nuts! But we ended up talking to a murderer that was crazy. He was like running from the cops and everything, but he seemed to be really cool with us. I don't know. It was an experience.

Saturday - We played some round table for our morning workout with a couple of other missionaries. That was so funny. Then we went to a baptism and that was pretty cool to see too.We were going to do some service but it fell through so we went with 4 other missionaries to Chic Filet and that was a real good time there too.

Sunday - Nothing really big happened for Sunday. We had a meeting with President Carrol and I heard that the Cavs lost in overtime so that boiled by potatoes, but I hope they can pull it together.

OK NEXT WEEK:

Monday - We made a pile of pancakes and played some mean basketball again.

Tuesday - We helped Alva with some more of her fry bread stand. I have never had fry bread, and man, I was missing out. They go crazy for that stuff..

Wednesday - Another Relief Society meeting, this one had less people but it still was pretty good. We got the old ladies laughing pretty hard.

Thursday - Oh man, we do Thursday as our weekly planning; that is brutal. It is like 4 hours of stuff and people and it is all inside and sitting down so we try and do it like that. But then we drove into Albuquerque and had a meeting with our stake president, President Lewis. He is a cool guy but he is getting out so we will get a new one. but it was good to look over the new missionaries.

Friday - Well, come to figure out that we were walking around and it was record-breaking heat . People thought we were crazy , but we got a lot of water out of it. Oh ya, we had district council too. That is the same ol' stuff each week; it is brutal, but it's good for me.

Saturday - Oh man, Saturday was sweet. We got invited to a casino show that is where I get most of my stuff. But we were walking around and meeting a lot of new people, so it was good and as we were talking to someone, they had a big ol' stage set up and playing some music. But that final band was quiet riot and I was like, ya, we are headed out. I couldn't stand those ding dong crazy rock people.

OK SUNDAY!
This day was nuts. We went to church in Laguna, then to Tohajilee. We forgot something in Laguna, so we drove back and man, when we got back it was pouring. It was the first big rain in 3 years. We literally dove in the trailer and could not see outside because it was hailing ping pong size hail. The trailer was shaking and getting beaten and we had so many leaks everywhere. So, turns out, we got a call that said we were right in the middle of a tornado path. We got blasted . It was throwing stuff at us and knocking stuff around so that was scary. Then we went back out to Tohajilee and the roads ... ya right. They were terrible. They are like clay when it rains and slick, so water was running over the road and we just kinda looked at each other, kicked it into 4 low and drove through it. The truck was covered in mud by the time we got to this person's house. We made it and I give the credit to the snow that we always had to plow through. But actually, that was awesome. Oh ya, then in Albuquerque we saw a murder case. Cops and all, like 5 seconds after it all happened. the bodies and all that. Ya, that was a little creepy, but definitely a journal entry. Oh ya, then I heard that the Cavs got killed int he game, so now it is 2-0 and I bet grandpa is just sick.

But that was my week. Sorry it was long. I love you all and have a great week.

Elder Reiley
