Are the people that actually listened to you actually wanting you to teach them?
Ya, the people we are teaching are good because they want to take the lessons but are just so dang busy. But, we are getting some lessons in.
What was the best and worst of your week?
The best of my week was probably going to build houses again. It is good because I am learning a ton about it, and the people there are pretty cool too. The wors part was just it was a dead week, nothing really happened and I feel like we didn't get a ton of progress.
What is your favorite Christmas song?
Let it Be Christmas by Alan Jackson. Off the mission it's a joke, but 12 Redneck Gifts of Christmas
Do you have a permanent address yet?
Well, the apartment deal now is still the same. We are in a new one, but transfers are coming up and I will most likely be moved, but if not, I'll give the address of the apartment when we are in which should be sometime coming up. Other missionaries are in the Roadrunner Copperstone apartments #1303 if you mail stuff to Las Cruces, unless I get transferred then I don't know where I'll be.
It sounds like you guys had a pretty good week, but not much going on, kinda like my week.
Monday - We had the mission tour in El Paso, so now I can finally say that I have been to ElPaso Texas! I kept thinking of Glory Road and to be honest with you, it is not that far off! I will send some pictures. But it was good because we were there with Elder Ringwood of the Seventy and his wife is President Nelson's Daughter, so that was cool. We had a really good meeting. I liked it and met up with some old buddies.
Tuesday - We went back down to ElPaso with Elder Bushman. We went to Cavenders, it is a real fancy cowboy western store. I didn't buy anything, but there was some really nice stuff. I helped Elder Bushman get a nice cowboy hat. Then we went and looked around the border. Wow, AI could have spit on Mexico because I was so close. And I'll tell you what... totally congested and 99.999999999% Mexican. We went to McDonalds for lunch and there were about 40 to 50 people and 5 white guys - ya, that was us. Then we went to Cabelas and had a real good time looking around there. I liked that one a lot.
Wednesday - We built houses for quite some time and that was a good time to be doing that. We wrote a little bit more to the song and had dinner with Roberta and then we went to Steven's house. He is sweet. I am definately going to visit him off the mission. He is a nonmember and doesn't want the lessons, but he loves the spirit we bring to his home. So we had a pretty good time with him.
Thursday - Well, we moved into a new apartment, but it is so stinking far out of our area that we might move back into Roadrunner apartments. Who knows? Sowards dinner they are sweet. I gave a dinner message to the whole family and it was hard because there were like the kids and everyone, but I got her. We did see some Indians playing Cricket and that was weird. A cold stinking night because our heater was broken and we only ahd a couple of blankets. But heck it was not that cold, it was like 40 or so.
Friday - Moving again.. furniture and getting some good stuff. Did some weekly planning, then went to the Picacho ward Christmas party. That was ok. Everyone is really quiet, so it was really awkward too. But for the most part it was pretty fun. I watched like a 5 year old Mexican beat up a a 7 year old at the party, so that was pretty funny.
Saturday - We went to ya, ya, I know... Sportsmans. They had a fish fry and were showing people how to fela fish, so we went and we found a few people so it was a good finding deal. We tried to go by a few people, that was a beat because nobody was home or wanted to hear us. But then we had a good dinner with the Laws. Then we went to Rio Grande Chirstmas party and that was a ton better. The people are so stinking sweet there. I have a lot of people that I like there. So it was pretty fun, other than the Mexican food that was served.
Sunday - Church meetings then we called some people and talked to a couple of strangers that thought they would just give us their life stories. Then we had dinner. I held a corn snake and then we went to the Bushman's for some good Book of Mormon study.
So that was my week. Not a whole ton, but better than some others. Hope you all have a great week. Love you all.
