It was cool to find out that Sister Heiner knows Aunt Cheri. I have no idea how that subject came up about Cheri. She emailed me and Sister Heiner texted me and said that they were like best friends. It's a small world. Yeah, Elder McCleary now has a cowboy hat, so maybe I can get a few more elders hooked on the cowboy way. So far it's going pretty good.:)
Did you watch the Christmas Devotional? What stood out to you, if you did?
Yes, I watched it and it was good. I liked how no matter where you are as a missionary or not, we are always looking for the one. There is always someone that we can find in a day.
What did you learn from the Book of Mromon this week?
I learned that I am now getting to know the stores better. That when the people are good, God blesses them with riches, but all the time, it ends up as they fall away and get too prideful. So l looked at it as just don't get too wealthy! Ya, you can have some money but good heck you do not need all the money in the world like a lot of people think.
Are you in a regular apartment now?
No, still in this temporary, so I guess just have people send stuff to the mission home. They said we would be in a regular apartment this week, but who knows.
What is one thing you love about Jesus Christ?
I love that He is always willing to help us up no matter how many times we fall off the ladder. He is the One that puts us back on to it.
I'm glad you guys had a good week and I hope the next one is even better.
My week:
Monday - We went to the mall. Ya, I know, brutal, but we went to the Boot Barn, so it wasn't the end of the world. Then we went to Sportsmans, and then I saw an elder GET HIS EYE BROWS DONE!!!!! Ya, like took some string deal and basically got them shaved. Oh, man, it was scary.
Tuesday - Food bank service and then we had some lunch and some Christmas cake at Stephanies. Man that stuff was really good. Some pineapple deal stuff.
Wednesday - We had service at the Munson Center and then went to Tony Buckman's and helped him put up a rock wall. Then we had more interviews with the President. We had dinner at President Hake's house, the stake President, then found domeone in a door knocking approach that is usually not too successful.
Thursday - We sanded this guy's house for like 30 minutes, thinking it was going to be a big project. We had a good game of volleyball, so that was good to have in the week. We found 2 new people. BOOM BABY!!! Record for Picacho. Then we went to Chilis for dinner and it was brutal having all eyes on me at the moment I walked into the place, but the food was good. Then we had some basketball.
Friday - We had the same District Council. Yikes. Then me and a couple of elders are writing a song and singing it, so we will see how that all plays out. We had a great dinner at the Romneys. Man, they are sweet, but it was a really great day.
Saturday - Well, I went out to Miss Beby's she is a sweet gal. We are not teaching her yet, but I am working with and shoeing her horse. We are hopefully getting somewhere there. Then we went to Tony's again and helped him with his wall and got his life story so that was cool. Then went to a Mexican baptism and Elder McCleary had to play so I just sat there and tried to keep my head down, but overall it was not too bad. Then the sister missionaries misplaced their keys, so we had to run to the other side to get them. They are not all there!
Sunday - Fast Sunday is always a beast. But once we got through that we had an ok dinner then we wnet to the BUshman's and we wathced the Christmas deal and then had a Bible study and then we got to work on the song for a little while too.
So that was my week and this past couple of days we had the mission tour in El Paso, so I was not able to email, so that is why I am a day late.
But I hope that you all have a really good week and that all goes well with thesnow that I miss. :) I love you all.
Elder Reiley
