Family,
Are you still in Albuquerque? Same companion?
No, I am up here in Taos. It is the farthest north in the mission. So it is all the way up in the mountains, like in the middle of nowhere. It is pretty fun. Mountains, trees and but a pile of hard core hippies but I'll work with it. My companion is Nightengale, and he's pretty cool, so I like him.
How's your sprained ankle?
It is not bad. I can still run and walk on it, but it is still pretty big, but I am ok.
Did you get your package?
Yes, and thanks a ton for that.
How is serving a mission strengthening your testimony of Jesus Christ?
I have seen a lot of things happen good and bad and I have always seen that the members that put forth their faith in the gospel makes them say that they can do anything because they can if they have the faith. Miracles happen and I have seen that on my mission. Serving is building my faith in what the Lord can do.
Monday - Transfers were this day. I found out I was going to Taos. We went to Sister Yamamotos and played pool and ping pong and a bunch of little games. It was pretty fun. I got a little competitive;). Then we played a little ball.
Tuesday - Rez day baby!! Elder Winn needed help with the area so we drove out and met them. It was feast day, so I got some cool stuff and even got to see a bunch of old faces, so I was super pumped. I showed him around the rez. So it was great then we went to the church and I played basketball with the ward in boots and jeans, so I was super happy. Then Elder Holmquist and Elder Manser came up and stayed so it was good to talk to those two.
Wednesday - Transfer morning... we got there and saw a few missionaries. I got my new companion. Then we had a 3 hour drive to Taos. Man, talk about pretty. There are a bunch of canyons there, just like home. We got there and got unpacked and then went to find some people and we went to the Phillips. They are cool. He ties flies, so we were talking quite a bit, but it was a good day.
Thursday - We tried to get a guy baptized but he failed his baptize deal so we are working with that. Then we looked around. I got to see the area pretty good, then we made a sweet dinner with some chicken and some good stuff, so it was a pretty good day.
Friday - We had zone council. It is a little different zone but it's good. I don't see them much. But then we went back and we had a good time; we went out and tracted out a place in the sun then it turned into lightening and then it turned to hail and then snow and then wind and then back to sunshine. It was super weird, but cool too. Then we went to a few houses then we got dinner and did some stuff on the computer.
Saturday - We went to a birthday party and helped set up. Then we went to a bowling deal with the ward. It was pretty fun. I almost biffed it because it was been awhile since I have bowled, but the ward is pretty cool, so that was super fun. Then we went back to the birthday party and the kid opened a few presents and we got free cake, so that was a score. Then we went to the Mims. They live out in the middle of nowhere, and it was a ball getting there because it rained a little bit.
Sunday - We went to church at a little ward. It is awesome. Then we got invited to a Hindu temple. Hippie central, man it was bad because they don't eat any meat... all veggies. We ate with them and it was a little interesting. I didn't like it much, but it was an experience, so then we went to Espanola to stay with the zone leaders for tomorrow. So overall it was a great week. I hope that everything goes good for you all this week. I love you all. Have a great week.
