The bobo burger from the last letter meant that it was a cow that we helped load into a trailer to go get butchered, he was a pain to get in there.
Yes, I still have some cash and I'm trying to save it.
I have people down here that are totally ready to take us on a hunt, so hey, that could work.
You guys had a good week; send some pictures of Carson's camp out when you can.
What did you learn/appreciate from your first area?
Well, my first taught me really how to be a missionary. It was the place that broke me in and now I have an idea of what I am going to be doing. I miss it, but it was a place that I am going to visit when I get back. It made me focus on the people and the work.
Who is your companion? How long has he been out? Where is he from? Are you getting along ok? What is one positive thing about him that you've noticed so far?
My companion is Elder Manser. He is out 10 months and he is from West Valley Utah. We are getting along good so far. I knew him a little in the last area. We played ball a little so that was really nice. One thing that I have seen is that he is not a time waster. When we need to be doing something, he will be on the ball.
Where do you live? An apartment? A member's house? Please tell me you have A/C!
We live in an apartment complex called Copperstone. We have lots of A/C!
How was your Wednesday? I'm guessing it was pretty crazy.
Ya, Wednesday was a beast but it is long gone now. I'll tell you about it further down.
Do you need anything now that you are in a new place?
I am good now. I just sent a box of stuff that I don't need, so you can just tuck that away somewhere.
How are you doing overall - change and everything
Overall I am not doing too bad. I'm still nervous. This is a really big change that is for sure. I am doing pretty good though. I have a feeling it will get better or worse, but now I"m just neutral and kinda coasting. Just keep praying that I will learn the area.
Here is my week:
Monday was my last p-day there, and I am still undefeated. I am pumped that I never got beat in a game of 1 on 1 while I was there and the elders are pretty good. Then we went out lunch with the sisters. They are sweet, we got some burgers and I thought it was pretty good.
Tuesday we had to bike around because some elder or sister got in a crash and the whole mission had to walk, so we were all kinda sore about that one. I tried to say goodbye to everyone, but we were on a bike - heck, you can only go so far , so I was bumbed about that, but I still said bye to a few people.
Wednesday we went to the transfer station and wow, I met a pile of missionaries and caught up there, so that was good. Then I went and I had to drive a brand new only 6 miles on this new Corolla with 2 crazy Mexicans (they were annoying, but funny too) for 4 hours to Cruses. Then I met Elder Manser and we went shopping and I got some stuff, then we went to a few people's houses mainly members for now so I could meet them.
Thursday we had a lesson with a new guy. He is ok for now, but we tried contacting people all day and Elder Manser showed me some of the area. We are pretty close to the campus so that is cool. It pored - I mean it was like flooding. I loved it, even if the water was over the sidewalks, we were plowing through water like it was nothing. There was so much water.
Friday we had district council and then we had a lesson with a recent convert. We stopped by some people we are trying to meet with and then we had dinner with a family , the Rommnies (Romney's?) and they had a friend over that was a hunting guide in Teton, so he and I got a long great. He doesn't know a lot of people, but he knows the area for sure so we talked for a long time.
Saturday we worked out. We have a really nice gym so I will get some good workouts there. But then we went to a few people and talked with them. I am trying to find service down here, but there is not a lot of it, so we will see. We met with a recent convert. Man, she reminds me of Aunt Renae. She is super funny and loves the missionaries. We were at their house for awhile.
Sunday we went to church in both wards. It was not bad but there were tons of people and they are crazy. Elder Manser says I''ll get used to them. We had dinner with a family that are nuts. They have 4 cats and I'll tell you what... they have a 30 pound cat. I'm not kidding. It was so big, it had to like drag itself on the floor. I thought it was a beaver when I first caught a look at him. But it was a pretty good time. Oh, and I met a guy named Tony Buckman. He is a bronc rider. He is a stud, and I liked him a lot. We spent some time at his house and played a few games with his kids. He is a less active, but he is awesome.
Well, that is my week. Not too bad. I might not have as many stories, but it has been good so far.
I love you all, and have a great week.
Elder Reiley
