#41 July 15-21, 2018

Dear Family,

It sounds like you had a pretty good week for sure and it is good to hear that everyone is having a great time. Man, Reiley Moulton is home? That is really crazy. I wonder if it went pretty fast for him. Tell him I said hi. Overall, it sounds like you had a fun week.

When we send you a package now, does it still go to the mission home, or to your address in Las Cruces?

Ok for a package send it to the new address because the mission home gets them but it only gets down here when the zone leaders head down and that is not very often.

What do you do every day - routine? I'm sure it's different than the reservation.

Get up at 6, work out, shower, eat, study, then try to go to teaching appointments, lunch, then we sometimes try to go out with people to houses, then dinner and then a few more people and that's about it. Kinda boring, I know, but it's the same thing every day.

What was the best part of your week?

Going on exchanges with an elder from Alaska. We did some pretty sweet stuff. I'll explain more further down.

What was the hardest part of your week?

Trying to adjust to the heat.

What was something funny that happened during your week?

Me and Elder Anderson got peed on by a big ol' toad.

Do you have to ride a bike in this area?

Nope, no bike thank goodness. If I was, boy I would be in a lot of pain there. It is in the 100's almost constantly

Do you have any solid investigators?

Yes, we have one. Her name is Christina and she is super solid. She told us that she is tired of playing around and is going to get baptized August 11 is what we are shooting for.

What is the best food of the week?

The best food brought me home... I had a big ol' baked potato with cheese and a pile of butter and ranch and bacon. It was super good. I miss that stuff.

What is something you learned this past week?

One thing that I have learned is that there is a time for everyone that will hear of the gospel and will at on it or not. Some people are ready now, and others ten years from now. It is all what God's plan is and you just follow what He says to do. And to stay inside between 2 and 4 because that is the hottest part of the day.

What do you want to tell us about your week?

Monday - Not too much on Monday. We played zone sports which was fun even though the Mexicans wanted to just play soccer. Then we had dinner with the Sanchez family. They have a million dollar house, it was so nice.

Tuesday - We did some service at a food bank. We bagged water this time with a bunch of teens that were loud and crazy as heck. Splits fell through, so this guy took us to a frozen custard place that was really good.

Wednesday - We went to the food bank again and we bagged more water and helped a lady move a pile of fruit around Then we helped a family move. They are pretty cool and have a lot of money like none other, but we helped them move some other stuff around. Then they gave us ice cream and pizza, so it was a steal.

Thursday - We had lunch at Jimmy Johns which was a first for me. It was not a bad place at all. We got some flex seal for this guy that didn't know what it was and he wanted us to fix a leak. Then we went to Little Ceasars, We ate pizza in the church parking lot with the AC on as far as it would go. Then we had dinner with a guy named J. Smith. You would think he is white but heck no he is one of the funniest black guys I have met, mainly because his name is J. Smith.

Friday - I went on exchanges with Elder Anderson from Alaska. He is a good guy - really big into video games, which doesn't make sense to me because he is from Alaska. But we had dinner with these people that were all about video games. I told them I was a farmer and they never said another word to me but I didn't care because they had all those baked potatoes and I couldn't talk anyways. Then we went to a person[s house called the Eatons; I swear, everyone has money crawling out their ears! So I was trying to make friends, but they have a monster home and this guy has a trophy room as big as our living room with all the mounts that you can think of. IT was really cool. Then on the way out we ran into to 2 massive toads and I picked one of them up like it was nothing and Anderson had the other one, when we were trading, it just let loose and it was really funny.

Saturday - We helped a guy cut down some of a tree that was getting too close to the power lines, so that felt good to do some actual work and we got busy. Then we stopped by a guy that needed help on this truck and Elder Anderson fixed the engine, and I switched out the brake pads so I finally got to get my hands dirty and it felt good. Then we stopped by a short plump lady that will always feed us so we did not have a dinner and she fed us pretty good.

Sunday - We went to church and met a pile of people and 4 of our investigators came to church so it was really ice to see that. Then we had a couple of lessons with people. We had dinner with a crazy loud family that doesn't care they all try to talk over each other, so we just pipe down and eat. We met this guy who wants to come to church and is pretty funny. He did all sorts of crazy moves for us... some weird fighting deal - interesting and funny too.

But that was my week. I'm glad you all had a great week too. Keep enjoying it, it will be worth it in the end.

I love you all.

Elder Reiley
