#66 December 30-January 5, 2019

Family,

Are you teaching anyone regularly in this new area?
As of teaching anyone, it is slow, but we are finding. Not all of them are progressing though.

What do you like and dislike about Albuquerque?
It gets a little bit cold, there are a pile of ducks and geese, and I'm getting to know it a little better.
I'm in Ladera where there are a ton of houses, and no country.

What are 3 positive things about Elder Nelson?
Hard worker, has fun, and super outdoorsy like me

In what way has your testimony grown the most since you've been out on your mission?
Just by seeing the people and how the react to problems and how close they really are to their Heavenly Father and how close I want them to be.

Well, it sounds like you guys had a good week. Oh ya, so it snowed and Albuquerque was completely shut down like jobs and roads and everything. Man, it felt weird. There was like 2 inches of snow. How bad is that?

My week:
Monday - we played a little basketball and had a little McDonald lunch and then we shopped.

Tuesday - we had a day where we just focused on the Lord all day. I read the Book of Mormon and man, it was cool. I really had a good experience with that. It was nice to have that. Then we cleaned and I"ll have to take some pictures and send them to you. We have made a few changes in our apartment, and it is super cool. Then we had dinner and it was good food.

Wednesday - we had to stay inside because the mission told us to stay in because the roads were too bad and the snow so that was brutal. So we just built some stuff like a coat rack and boot rack. We made bed cocoons and I know mom would hate it because it is claustrophobic, but I love it. Our apartment is now the coolest in the mission.

Thursday - Well, Elder Nelson still has a bad cough and a bad sore throat so he has to stay out of the cold, but we did a long deal of weekly planning and then we went to Dan's house. He is super cool, and we ate with him and played with the dogs and looked at his new car.

Friday - District council. Wow, Elder Nelson is the district leader and he winged the heck out of this one. It was pretty funny because I knew it.

Saturday - I had exchanges with Elder Perry, but he is Spanish, and I don't know hardly any Spanish, so that was interesting. We tried to find people, but nobody was really home, then we had a dinner with a Mexican family that spoke not a lick of English so there I was just trying to eat and they were talking and then he would ask me something in Spanish, and I just sat there and long story short... it was super awkward.

Sunday - 2 hours of church - that was something else. I like it but at the same time it was hard to get used to. We had a dinner with a really cool family, the Walker family. They are a cool big family and it feels like you are a part of them. They are awesome.

So that was my week. Ya, not too much but still it was pretty good for what we had to work with. But I am doing good, holding strong and just trying my best. Have a great week, and I love you.

Elder Reiley
