#71 - February 3-9, 2019

Dear Family,

I'll answer the questions first.

What are three positive things about this transfer?
I know the ward somewhat, I like them so that is positive.

What are the difficulities about this transfer?
No work. Our people dropped us and we have to start everything over.

What are your responsibilities as a district leader?
I have to go and take care of everybody's problems. Then, Oh ya, I have to plan all of those district councils every week. There are 10 missionaries in my district and 4 are sisters.

What is a quote that you like?
A determined man finds a solution, the other guy finds an excuse. I like it because you can't find any excuses just go do it and get it done.

You guys had a lot of basketball and that is really nuts that boys and girls are doing so well. I hope that the boys can go to state too. I feel like I'm aging just hearing about those close games!

It snowed a little today, not enough to even think about , but still I saw it.

Thanks for looking at schools and thanks for sending a package. I am good for now. Thanks a ton mom, I appreciate that a lot.

My week:
Monday - We started by going to an old Indian store. Elder Nelson got some pretty good stuff, then we went down to Las Lunas and we played some good basketball. Man, I kill for that! We signed journals and then called it a day.

Tuesday - So we went to Dan's work. He works in a courhouse and he is like the head judge of this place so we had to go through a security line and I forgot that I had a knife in my wallet, but they didn't catch it and boy, I was sweating big time. But then we went and got VIP in the court room and we got to take pictures and sit in the chair and stuff. Man, it was awesome. Then I played my heart out in basketball.

Wednesday - We had our service in the food place and not a lot happened but it is nice to go there. I love it a ton. Then we rode the bus back. That is getting fun. Then Nelson had to pack and we said some goodbyes.

Thursday - Transfer day. I went with Elder Joneward and Perry and we had a pretty good day. We just kinda talked before we all got our new companions. I had the district leader call then we had dinner with a Mexican family, they were pretty cool, but the food was actually pretty hot, so thank goodness I am not a Mexican! Then I got Elder Carter and we went home and called it a day.

Friday - District council - ya first one with this district. Man it was pretty good. I like the district I have now. Then we had to go switch cars for  Rio Grande so we had to drive across Albuquerque, then went and grabbed a few groceries. Then we went to the hospital but it was closed so we went to the Barretts and then we were there for a long time... they can talk! So I guess that's ok.

Saturday - So today we gave a blessing at the hospital and then that was ok. I hate hospitals, but just get in and get out. Then we went to Sister Hens and did some service for her. We organized the entire shed. Man that was a lot of stuff, but we got it all moved. Then we went and contacted a few people and then we then we(mom you would be so proud), but I mad my own potato dinner like boiled the spuds and everything! :) Then we went by our bishop and man, he is super funny. I like him a ton. He has been a bishop for a long time and he knows the missionaries so we give each other giref.

Sunday - We went to church and then did our studies and then we went to find some people, then get this... we had dinner scheduled with a single sister so she said she would get a few people. Well, it turns out it was a couple of nuns. Ya, Sound of Music nuns! Well, I thought it was going to be a big bash, but it turned out to not be that bad. We just talked and then had a good conversation. So it was interesting sitting at the same table as them, but they were somewhat normal for what we could see. One of them told us flat out that she was a tree hugger!

But that is about all for my week. Wish me luck on this next one and pray that we will be able to find some people to teach. Thanks a lot. I love you all a ton and have a great week.

Elder Reiley
