#80 April 7-13, 2019

Dear Family,

Is Santa Fe Cool? What is Taos like?
Santa Fe is not that cool. Taos is like Victor. There are those types of people everywhere, but it is a tourist town too.

Does the ward support missionary work?
Yes the ward does really good with helping us.

Were you able to teach any lessons this week?
We taught one to a guy that we ran into during the week. He is ok where he is at, but says we can still teach him, so hopefully that goes ok.

What would (do) you say to someone if they asked you what members of the Church think about Easter?
I would tell them that Easter is Jesus's birthday and it is all about how He rose from the dead and that is what we celebrate, not his death. So many people wear a cross to mean his death, but we care mostly about his Resurrection.

I think the day I come home is October 17 and I would like to do my report the next week if that is possible.

My week:
Monday - So today was just all basketball. We played for a long time and it was great. Then we went to the zone leaders' dinner. That was different. They had a few crazy kids and that was funny to watch. Then we had to stay at their house and me and Elder Holmquist benched in the night and he is a little animal. He put up quite a bit more than he weighs. Me too.

Tuesday - We had zone conference. I like it when I can get something good out of it. We went to pizza place and got pizza. Then we drove back to the zone leaders' and it was late, so we ended up just staying there.

Wednesday - We had a morning deal then we came back and tried a few more finding things. Ya, it was not the greatest, but we did what we could. Then we had dinner, the we had to drive back down to the ZL's and go up to Alamos because we had exchanges.

Thursday - So I was with Elder Mortenson. He is from Rigby, Idaho and he is pretty cool. We had a pretty fun time talking about home so that was nice. Then we went to a Lutheran church and helped them move stuff from their trucks so it was easy. The people were ok; some were rude but some were nice. I just did my deal and stayed out of the way. Then he plays guitar so we went to a park and he was going to play and I was like heck no. I saw these kids playing basketball so we played with them instead. It was good. Then we had to go get dinner at Smiths. I got a sandwich and a Gatorade. Ya, not the best, but still. Then we went to the church and we played ball with his ward. I couldn't tell what it was, but I played super good. I literally did not miss a shot and some of them were prayers. That was super fun.

Friday - We drove back down and then we went to the people that we talked to but it was bad because none of them were home. Then we went to this guy that sells bows. So hear me out on this. Dad is hunting with a bow back home, so this guy has a really good price and deals on them, so should I buy one out here and then send it home or wait till I get home to try to buy one there? We had dinner and a few member visits. Those are good because they give us a few referrals and it is nice to give us something to do.

Saturday - Man today was a beast. We tried to contact everyone and they all kinda fell through. Then we had 4 hours to do something so we ended up knocking on doors. No takers. I am going back to do the service deal where I just ask everyone I see. then we had to go back and watch the safety videos and that took up a while then we had dinner so it was slow, but it was still a good deal to have.

Sunday - We had church and then we went to the Bishop's house for lunch. We played ping pong and then we had to give the sacrament to some lady that has 9 cats and she really knows how to talk! :) But then we did some more finding, but nobody really wants to do it, but if we keep trying we will get one. Then we went to Diegos. He is awesome and had a good dinner with them and then we went to the bridge. It is called the Taos Gorge bridge and it is super high. Even though I was one the bridge, I was shaking!

But that is my week and it was pretty good. Kinda slow, but not bad, so I'll take it. I hope that you all have another good week. I love you all.

Elder Reiley
