Dear Family,
That sounds like a super good week. It really does. It seems that everyone is doing good and that you all are so happy. That makes me happy too.
Is that girl still on track to get baptized? I forgot her name.
Ya. Taylor is her name and she is on date for the 31st of March. We are pumped about that.
How was your first district training? How did your presentation go? You said that you had to give a 20-30 minute talk or something about how to do something.
The first one I was a little nervous but it went really well. My presentation is to explain, do a role play, good and bad, then they do one and then evaluate. I did it on teaching simply. I kinda have to do it off of what the sisters need so it did not go too bad at all.
What do you think about Jesus Christ's Atonement and how are you using it in your daily life?
Man, the Atonement has been a big role down here on my mission. Every time you make a mistake, you know that if you repent and try to do better, you can move on... always.
Are you still learning Keres and Navajo?
Oh ya, still learning a little here and there but it has died down, but I can carry on a conversation. Navajo is a little harder though.
What is the hardest thing about missionary work for you so far?
The hardest thing would be you are always doing something. There is nothing in between. You are always moving and it just kind wears you out. But you do get used to it.
What is the most rewarding thing about missionary work for you so far?
The most rewarding thing would be knowing that I am doing my part. Everyone does it so it is just my turn to do the best I can out here in the field.
What is your favorite subject to teach others about? Even when you leave a message and maybe not to teach a whole lesson.)
I would say the Restoration because it is what we are told to teach about, and you can make it as powerful as you want it to be. It really just opens the door to the people.
What are three positive things about Elder Smithson?
He is funny, he is willing to work, and he is super excited about the reservation. Also, he is very obedient.
What is your favorite scripture right now? Why?
2nd Nephi 10:19 because whenever we feel like we are lost there is always a light that guides us in the path of righteousness. It is like a game that we can't lose unless we go out of our way to lose it.
What do you look forward to this coming week?
I really look forward to the temple day on Monday, all the missionaries go to it for a session and it should be really fun.
What have you learned this past week?
I learned that not all the mission is about knocking on doors. It is about teaching people that will come into your path and that are ready to be taught.
What else do you want us to know about this past week?
Man, we stayed in Laguna for P-day and they were having a feast day deal where there were a ton of booths set up for people and they sell some dang good stuff. Really pretty things, then we went and watched the daudauwhy which is follow the leader and we got to see the eagle dance. Man, lots of fancy footwork and a lot of yelling, but it was a sweet day.
Thank you all so much for the email. It makes me want to do more. I hope that you all have another great week this week. I love ya a whole ton.
Love,
Elder Reiley
